Cricket Australia announced on Tuesday (March 26) that the 2024–25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and the host nation, Australia, will begin on November 22 in Perth. Then, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney will host the last five matches of the series.
The home team has won each of the first four Tests held at Perth's newest Test stadium. Although India played a Test match in the venue during their 2018–19 tour, no Test match was scheduled for 2020–21.
The second test, known as the D/N Test, will be scheduled to start in Adelaide on December 6. India was shot out for just 36 runs and lost the match the last time they played a pink-ball Test match in Adelaide under the lights. But this time, they do have nine days to get ready.
The third Test will be held at the Gabba in Brisbane, which is regarded as Australia's stronghold and was penetrated by the visiting Indian team the previous time. The customary Boxing Day and New Year's Tests at the MCG and SCG, respectively, will be the fourth and fifth Tests.
Pakistan, who played only Tests in 2023–24, will visit Australia for six white-ball matches prior to India's visit. The teams will square off in a three-match T20I series that ends on November 18 after playing three D/N one-day matches at the MCG, Adelaide Oval, and Perth Stadium.
