Sunrisers Hyderabad hit the ball out of the park against Mumbai Indians, scoring a whopping 277/3 in 20 overs. This set a new record for the highest innings total in IPL history, beating RCB's 2013 score against Pune Warriors India. Mumbai Indians' plan to use Jasprit Bumrah against power-hitter Heinrich Klaasen backfired. Instead, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, both new to SRH, smashed boundaries early on, leaving Mumbai's bowlers struggling.
