IPL 2025 Retention List Announced: Teams Keep Key Players for the Big Auction

Ahead of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, all ten IPL teams have announced which players they’re keeping. These retained players will be the main group for each team in the new season. Here’s a simple summary of each team’s retained players: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CSK kept Ruturaj Gaikwad for ₹18 crore, making him one of their most important players. They also kept fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana (₹13 crore) and all-rounder Shivam Dube (₹12 crore). Ravindra Jadeja (₹18 crore) is also staying, and captain MS Dhoni remains part of the team for ₹4 crore. Delhi Capitals (DC) Delhi Capitals retained Axar Patel for ₹16.5 crore and spinner Kuldeep Yadav for ₹13.25 crore. They also kept young players Tristan Stubbs (₹10 crore) and Abhishek Porel (₹4 crore). Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) KKR kept popular player Rinku Singh (₹13 crore) and spinner Varun Chakravarthy (₹12 crore). They also retained hard-hitting Andre Russell (₹12 crore) and two more bowlers, Harshit Rana and Ramandeep Singh. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) RCB kept Virat Kohli for ₹21 crore, making him their top player. Rajat Patidar (₹11 crore) and Yash Dayal (₹5 crore) are also staying, giving RCB a mix of experience and young talent. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) LSG kept Nicholas Pooran for ₹21 crore and spinner Ravi Bishnoi for ₹16 crore. They also retained Mayank Yadav (₹11 crore) and young player Ayush Badoni (₹4 crore). Punjab Kings (PBKS) Punjab Kings have a smaller core, keeping Shashank Singh (₹5.5 crore) and Prabhsimran Singh (₹4 crore). They will look to add more players during the auction. Mumbai Indians (MI) MI retained big players like Jasprit Bumrah (₹18 crore) and Suryakumar Yadav (₹16.35 crore). They also kept captain Rohit Sharma (₹16.3 crore), Hardik Pandya (₹16.35 crore), and young Tilak Varma (₹8 crore). SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) SRH kept their international players Heinrich Klaasen (₹18 crore) and Travis Head (₹14 crore). They also retained local players Abhishek Sharma (₹14 crore) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (₹6 crore). Rajasthan Royals (RR) RR kept captain Sanju Samson (₹18 crore) and young star Yashasvi Jaiswal (₹18 crore). Other players staying include Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer, and Sandeep Sharma. Gujarat Titans (GT) Last season's champions, Gujarat Titans, kept Rashid Khan (₹18 crore) and Shubman Gill (₹16.5 crore). All-rounders Sai Sudharsan (₹8.5 crore) and Rahul Tewatia (₹4 crore) are also staying. These retained players are the core for each team as they prepare for the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.
